Why Do You Love Golf?

Thanks for inviting me to your site – I like it a lot.
I shot a hole in one quite by accident once.
Out for a hit and giggle with some golfing friends, when my ex husband told me to not to bother playing the last hole as he wanted to get back to the club house and he didn’t want to go through the agony of waiting for me to finish my usual 25 shots to complete the ninth tee.
I stated that I did not know what the big fuss was over the game of golf.
“It’s all just showmanship!” said I as I whacked the ball as hard as I could in the general direction of the flag. The ball went almost straight up in the air – came down to bounce of a rock – flew over the creek – bounced on another rock – landed on the green and rolled slowly into the hole with the flag still in it.
Well the club house shouted everyone drinks – everyone was patting me on the back and asking me what my handicap was – I did not even know what that meant.
As you probably realize I am not a golfer; but I must confess the few times that I have been on a golf course, I have always had a most enjoyable day.

I wouldn’t go as far as saying golf is the greatest sport in the world, and many would argue that it’s not even a sport, but I love golf because of the challenge. You use (essentially) a stick to hit a ball into a tiny target. That isn’t the easiest thing to do! I also love golf because it is a great way for the men in our family to get together and spend some quality time with one another. And let’s not forget the beautiful sides of nature you get to see on the course! Just this week I was playing a course with the back 9 being in the mountains. Almost every hole overlooked the valley with a large lake in the distance as the sun set in the distance and deer joined us on the course. It was a beautiful time to golf.
